1 Queens Square

Chandos & Dent’s Almshouses have recently purchased 1 Queens Square – a prominent but sadly neglected property in the centre of Winchcombe. Our vision is to develop this two storey building into a permanent office for the Trust activities and a one bedroomed maisonette.

It has been many things over the years including, as this old image shows, Jim’s Garage. The property, to the left of the petrol pumps, was then adapted to give access to at least two cars as a car showroom. More recently the property has been a hairdressing salon as well as residential.

We aim for the reconstruction work to be completed by Easter 2026.
